So we had this weekend planned for Family to be coming to visit for like FOREVER! Shana, Tom and kiddies had these "awesome" tickets to fly from Boise to Seattle for the Easter weekend. Ya those tickets were NOT awesome! So to sum it up, they spent 9 1/2 hours in the Boise airport after 5 different whole hearted attempts to get on to a plane headed our way! Yup they were stand-by tickets, which are awesome when it isn't a HOLIDAY or SPRING BREAK. So to all you reading this take heed! Shana & I chatted after every disappointment of not making yet another flight in hopes that the next one would be it.... Ummm, nope never worked. The kids little hearts were shattered & her's... my wasn't doing all too good and Cory was totally bumbed out.
The trip was cancelled. But don't worry it gets better!
Cory gets home late that night, calls his sister and when he was done talking to her he looks at me and says.... "Kristen lets just pack up and go there. We need to go and I want to get out of town." My reaction... "umm don't you remember the family reunion we went to last year on a quick trip?? 7 1/2 drive time there for 1 1/2 days there and then the 7 1/2 hour drive back home..... in our little, dinky car, with a wiggly 2 year old...don't your remember this?" He just smiles and laughs at me and says "Yup" and bats his HUGE eyes at me and totally gets me into his plan... (Please understand I LOVE seeing family, just HATE our car) Then proceeds to call his folks to let them know we are coming. Since we have both family all in the same area we needed to figure out a way to make it all work. So Cory's ANGEL of a mother hosted a united family BBQ, which with the help of my mom & sister in laws it was WONDERFUL. So I packed the car up Friday morning and as soon as Cory could get out of work,

on the road we headed!
Shana & family had NO idea we were coming. It was their surprise!
We got to her house around 9:30pm and I totally wish I would of had a camera. Had Mitchel knock on the door. Since it was late Shana opened the door just a crack and then just stared at us for about a minute then started crying and did this weird, scary, flying leap into Cory! Good thing he has pretty good footing...could of been a wreck. It was AWESOME though. Cory was right, we did need to go and we did need to see family! Couldn't of asked for a better way to spend our Easter. Mitchel had a BLAST with his cousins, Aunts, Uncles & Grandparents!!! WE LOVE YOU GUYS... we are so blessed!

You guys are the best. I can't quit gushing over this!
Those pictures turned out so cute! We had such a fun weekend. And we miss you already. That was the greatest surprise ever and I am sure it will go down in the family history book. It will be retold many times and get better with each telling! :)Love you all.
