Visit to the "Northwest Trek"

My boys...I know they are cute aren't they!
Our little Mitch Man posting out the tram window looking at all the animals.
Ya, I know the kid has to scream when he gets a pic with his mom...what is up with that!??!
Cory LOVES the sheep... there were goats too and baby lambs with the mama's.
It was SO green and beautiful that day.
The velvet on the horns were pretty neat to see.
It was kind of funny. As our tram driver/informist/weird humor gal was driving us through the path and pointing out all of the different animals, when she saw this baby caribou she was pretty shocked. I guess they always take the expecting mama's and bring them in out of the weather and away from the trams and people to have a baby. While this little guy decided to come early. The baby was only a couple of hours old. Still shaky on it's feel. Our gal was really shocked and told us to be sure and get a good shot because this pretty much NEVER happens. Cory with his nice LONG arms got this shot. Babies are so adorable.
Good old family shot outside of the Wolverine cage... you can kind of see one behind the stroller!

So we figured that since we haven't played tourist yet this year....ha ha... We'd make a visit to yet another cool place here. So some family friends of ours and if you talk to us often you will know we are talking about the White family, and us decided to head to the Northwest Trek on Memorial Day. It was great! They have this large area all for certain animals that you get on this tram they have a they take you on a tour to see...buffalo, mountain goats, sheep, elk, caribou, moose (I got to see two, very exciting for me) & deer. Then of course they can't put all animals together so they have this other walking path area where they have the black bears, grizzlies, wolves, cougars, lynx, bobcat, wolverine, racoon's (really close and super cute)& otter's. Oh and then they have an area for birds that they had bald eagles, all different kinds of owls & hawks. These we animals that had been injured and couldn't be released into the bushes again.
So all in all it was really cool. Mitchel loved all of the different animals and entertainment. But like every two year old by the time we left he was totally tucked out and in desperate need of a nap....and that was what he got! So it was a pretty good Memorial day, hope your alls was too!

I know it has been so cool living here. And unlike Cali we are actually doing all the neat things. Wish we would of done that in Cali instead of working so much. But oh well... sure is fun here!
