The phone rings and it's his teacher on the line... explaining to me that Mitchel had hit one of the teacher aids in his class WITH his lunch box. My first thought was 'Thank Heavens it's a soft lunch box'! Oh the conversations that we have had to have with this boy in what is nice and what is rude. I had to giggle a little too because I could just see him getting frustrated and winding up for the wap. But of course my soft soul little man was in tears when he made it off the bus because 'his brain was just so frustrated it told his hands to whack his teacher and make her stop talking'. I hugged him and let him cry it out then we talked about other ways we could deal with our brains.... and how we could apologize to this aid.
So we came up with a home made card that he would write in and decorate. I thought it was perfect. He was very happy and excited to give this to her the next morning, leaving everyone in smiles!
He's such a sweet little soul! I just love him and all the things 'his brain' tells him to do :) After all my brain says the same things most of the time, I just can't react to them like him!
