Oh brother...

So when we had company here... Gayle and Charlie... and had headed out to the tulip festival, leaving the puppies at home. Well we have a back door that goes to a smaller room then another door into the house. We thought we'd leave the back door open to the smaller room, so if it started raining or was sunny we could give the dogs the option of being inside or outside. Yes, we thought we were being nice. So we were gone for only about 4 hours or so and when we got home Degen was SO THIRSTY. So Cory gave him a bunch of water and thought nothing of it. I was doing something with Mitchel and later came out to see Degen with a HUGE stomach. I kept saying for about an hour how bloated and weird he looked. Then Cory tells me that Degen had gotten into Ike and Sophie's food. Oh crap. So I call the vet and they want to see him. There are so many things that can go wrong with bloating and then to make it worse Cor gave him water so all the food was just expanding in his tummy.

So to sum it up. He went to the vet, got his stomach pumped (they double dosed him) got 3 lbs of food out and figured there was still a good pound and a half left in him. Yes, I know isn't that gorse. So $98 later we bring home a puppy with still a good tummy ache, but a live and healthy. I went and bought containers for the dog food the next day! I'm still kicking myself that I didn't take a picture it seriously looked so funny when he sat down. Santa as a dog!

Remember this teddy bear. When we got Degen he was smaller than it and would cuddle up to it all the time... He's only 4 1/2 months now and look at it! Oh what have I done!
