Memorial Day luck.

Welcome to Deception Pass & Whidbey Island, Washington!We took a day travel with the White family and had a blast doing some more sight seeing! I could so spend the rest of my days in this area! The day started off with so much rain here at the house, but as we continued North and to our destination the rain stopped. Still cloudy, but NO RAIN! Behind us is the bridge that they built so that you could get onto Whidbey Island. You can only see one part of it, but there are actually 2 parts of the bridge. Fact: This bridge cost $490,000 to build and it cost more than that to paint it in 1990. WHAT. Not worth the paint... and I love to paint!

We stopped at 2 beaches. This one was at the south tip of Whidbey Island and it has a section that is off leash for dogs..... Can you tell they were having a blast?

We timed it perfect, thank you Ada, so that the tide was out. We found TONS of shells, millions of little crabs, even a bigger crab, of course star fish and many more sea creatures. This is the whole crew of us, dogs, kids and adults, well except me!

This is the closest we could get Mitchel to holding a star fish. You can't see it, but we found a baby one, about the size of a quarter and he held it... still a little unsure, but he held it!
I call these rubber rocks. They look like rocks, but they are a clay of some sort. The whole hill side was this. It was super cool. Cory felt real tough when he was smashing around!

Up, up, UP they go. Mitchel saw Brittany take off and he was all about that. In about 5 minutes after this he had his shoes and socks off and it had become serious business!

Cor even had to try, but he claimed that the clay was too hard for a fat man to climb. Those were his words, I promise!

This was only10 minutes in the car after the ferry ride to the main land. He insisted playing my touch and well he just didn't make it too far. What a fabulous day we had together. No traffic, great day with lots of smiles and all together with friends we love! A day with loved ones is the best to remember of those we've lost and of what we are blessed with. Happy Memorial Day.
